Red phone boxes get a green makeover

You are here

Two BT telephone boxes in Archway have been revamped with the help of air purifying plants.

An old telephone box was moved from outside the Archway Library to Junction road to replace an old silver planter. The phone box was brought back to life with a fresh splash of red paint and some ivy and star jasmine to help mitigate pollution on the busy high street. Another phone box that had become dilapidated was also renewed, this one is located near the cycle path and bus stop on Sandridge Street. The work was carried out by Meristem Design under the direction of the ATCG and Map Gift Shop will maintain the phone box on Junction Road. We're over the moon the telephone boxes have been restored and we love how they bring a splash of colour to the town centre.
